August 2014
Delibo Wine Agencies has been appointed exclusive UK agent for the fine and historic Mosel estate Weingut S.A Prum, commencing 1st August 2014.
The deal was brokered by Tony Proctor (of Australian wine brand Barramundi fame) who has worked with Raimund Prüm for nearly 30 years, most recently to find the right agent to bring the family’s wines back to the UK market. From his base in North Yorkshire, Proctor will support Delibo by selling the S.A. Prüm wines in the UK, together with the wines Delibo is already well known for from Chile, France and New Zealand.
The addition of Weingut S.A. Prüm (a founder member of Germany’s prestigious VDP – Verband Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter) is a significant development for Delibo. Initially 8 wines will be imported, however many others, including older vintages of Eisweine, Beerenauslesen and Trockenbeerenauslesen are available from the cellars.
S.A Prüm is a family-owned wine estate nestled on the banks of Germany’s serene Mosel River, at the heart of the country’s celebrated Mosel growing region. Here, the Prüm family has cultivated vines for over 200 years. The estate has been in the hands of Raimund Prüm, owner and winemaker, since 1971 when he assumed full management. Under his leadership, the property has become one of the region’s most successful wineries, boasting an international reputation for the production of exquisite Rieslings.
