In the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers, overlooking the Dropt valley, there has been a family-owned property on this site in Le Puy since 1616. The Regaud family acquired the farm in 1929, since when three generations have nurtured and developed the vines. The Bastion, an ancient house on the estate, lends its name to this new range of wines, signifying a new partnership between the family and Delibo. The coat of arms was awarded to the family for ancient deeds on the battlefield and the three crescent moons represent goodness, friendship and honesty.
In 1979, Jean-Pierre Regaud continued his father’s work and immediately began an ambitious project to renovate the Château with a modern winery, fully equipped with stainless steel vats and temperature control. Michaël Regaud followed in 1996, after studying at Bordeaux Wine University in Saint-Emilion and working at Château Potelle, in the Napa Valley. Michaël’s daughter Marie is already preparing to take charge of the 90 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards and continue the modern ‘less is more’ winemaking ethos.
The family is committed to the preservation of biodiversity with sustainable agriculture and agroecological infrastructures.
