In 2008 Sergi Montala and Salvi Moliner, sommelier and winemaker, began the Estones adventure. Their shared passion for the wines of Priorat Montsant and Terra Alta was the driving force for their collaboration.
The grapes grown for the Estones wines come from vineyards around the town of Falset just outside the southern tip of the Priorat region and further inland in the Terra Alta region. The vineyards are located at 350 - 500 m and enjoy a meditteranean climate with cool nights and warm days. The north and westerly winds along with a sufficient rainfall ensure healthy grapes. In the Terra Alta they grow the Grenache Blanc and PX, and are the only producer of dry PX in the region, and their wine has been recognised for its unique style and quality.
Robust and rich red composed of Garnacha, Syrah Mazuela (Carignan)
Pale yellow with green reflection. Clean and bright. Clear fruity aromas, with a distinct perception of apple, pear and white flowers. It has notes of fennel and hints of aniseed. A broad palate it stands out for its good acidity, which converts its aromatic profile into freshness. Extremely fleshy, Great texture with a long and mineral finish.
50% Garnacha 50% Mazuela (Carignan) - 7 months in oak
100% PX fermented dry. Naceration and fermentation in stainless steel for 36 days, followed by 6 months on lees.
