Domaine de Font-Sane, established in 1860, lies in the heart of the Gigondas vineyards. Véronique Cunty-Peysson, winemaker, and her husband, Bernard, have continued their wine-making inheritance, and their son Romain, looks after the commercial side of the business. The Domaine is about sixteen hectares and has the rich resource of five different soil types: clay-limestone, pebbly, sandy, alluvium and sandy loam. This varied terroir gives the wines breadth and definition.
The name comes from the area "Fontsaine" which is situated on the heights of the village where we have vines on terraces (restanques) on a single site in the Massif des Dentelles, terraced plots. This name, "healthy fountain" in Provencal, was deliberately modified to keep its own identity.
