Chateau Haut de Lerm, Bordeaux, France
Owned by the Gonthier family for four generations, Chateau Haut de Lerm is located in the heart of the Bordeaux appellation, between Saint-Emilion and 13th century Sauveterre de Guyenne near Graves. Decsendants Christelle and Valerie Gonthier have run the 15 hectare property since 1988 and are award-winners at the Trophée des Vignerons de Bordeaux 2005 and Top Vinis 2006.
In traditional style, Chateau Haut de Lerm is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which grow on south facing slopes. The Cabernet is firm and tannic when young, elegant and complex in maturity, while the Merlot brings colour, suppleness, roundness and richness.
